The Weekend:
Tbilisi, is the wonderful Capital City of the country of Georgia. Lying in the East of the Country, in the foothills of the Trialeti mountain range and on the River Kura, 1.2 Miliion people call it home. Friendly and good-natured people, with a wealth of culture spanning back over 1,700 years, this is real gem of a city with amazing food and a wine heritage stretching back 8,000 years, and it is cheap too. There is a lot to see and do here, with many cultures and conquests leaving their mark, including most recently the Soviet Union. Tbilisi is a modern, forward-thinking city – where East meets West. It has only recently been on the tourism radar for the UK with direct flights now available with both Easyjet, and British Airways. We were amazed by the place, and it has quickly become one of our favourite cities.
Half Marathon & 10K
The annual Half Marathon and 10K in late September, made it a clear winner for us. We have put together a great race weekend package that we know you will love too.

The Race:
There is a Half Marathon (2 circuits) and a 10K (1 loop) event on offer. Whilst the course cannot be described as flat, it does take in many of the sights of the city and includes a stretch along the river.
Time limits
Half Marathon – 2.5 Hours
10K – 90 minutes
Spectators and Supporters:
We know how important spectators and supporters are at these events. We provide a supporters package at no extra charge. We will advise where on the course are the most advantageous spectator positions, and how to get there easily and in time for the race. More often than not we will take you there and join you for a cup of coffee and have a few surprises planned whilst awaiting the first sight of the runners! Our hotel is comfortably furnished with TV and entertainment facilities. There is an outdoor pool too.
Charity Runners:
'Running Crazy' are delighted to welcome runners who are raising sponsorship for registered charities. We know that the great feeling of accomplishment when completing the race feels even better when you are helping others in to the bargain! See our Run for Charity link to choose a charity that you can help. Many charities listed there will provide special runners packs including sponsorship forms and tips, and also charity running vests. Just contact them with your details and tell them you intend to run with 'Running Crazy' on their behalf. In addition we will provide you with a 'Running Crazy' Certificate confirming your achievement and result, and also a special commemorative prize. Just specify the charity name in your 'Application'.
Accommodation:
Our standard accommodation in Tbilisi is a boutique style 4* hotel, ideally located for the race, our transfers in, and your sightseeing days, this will be the Company base for the race weekend.
For those who like their extra creature comforts, then a superior 4* hotel (600 metres away) is available at a nightly supplement of £15 per person per night.
Both hotels are well located for the race, which mean they are ideal for changing and showers, kit security, early morning breakfast on race day, and that all important last toilet visit! No need to queue at the portable toilets, unless it is neccessary!
The hotels are well placed for your sightseeing days, with a nearby bus stop, and Metro station.

Entertainment:
We have a great Pasta Meal planned for the night before, and an amazing Georgian Cuisine Restaurant just around the corner from our hotel for our celebration meal. Our nearby after-race party pub with live music just cannot be beaten! All have been well tested!
There is so much to see and do in Tbilisi. There is a hop on/hop off sightseeing bus trip at just 30 Georgian Lari (about £7.50) which may be useful to get your bearings.
Tbilisi Old Town, the cable car up to the ‘Mother of Georgia’, the Thermal baths, a riverboat tour, the many bridges across the River Kura including the Peace Bridge with LED lights, the Botanical Gardens, the posh shops of the main boulevard Rustaveli Avenue through to Freedom Square, the countless statues throughout the city, and the other cable car or funicular railway up to Mtatsminda Park with spectacular views across the whole city.
Groups:
Tbilisi is a great venue for a group of runners. Lots of evening entertainment that is just crying out to be shared. There are discounts available for large groups (20+), but even a group of just 10 will qualify for an additional prize for the first or last to finish. Prices:
Our all inclusive prices are extremely competitive - from as little as just £149 for the weekend - we know we cannot be beaten on price - and our runners continually tell us that they receive so much more on a 'Running Crazy' weekend break. All our 'resort races' offer half board accommodation, and for our 'Big City' races we know all the best value places to eat, drink and have fun. Indeed we book these for our pre-race and after race gatherings, meaning groups and individuals can just sit back, relax, make new running pals and let us do any worrying. No tourist traps for our clients! We know these races and places inside out, and will advise on what to see and do over the weekend, provide directions and maps - all very useful when on a tight timescale. All you have to do is run!
