The Weekend:
Where did you spend your New Year? If you want an unforgettable New Year this year, then this has got to be the weekend for you. A 10K run in a great City and New Year Celebrations all in one.
The Spanish really enjoy their San Silvestre run on New Years Eve - for many it is the start of their festive holiday. In the twilight at 5-30 pm the gun goes and the 8,000 runners get under way. Just 10 minutes later it is dark and you are running along the wide and well lit boulevards of this great City. The 10K course is flat, and takes in many of the sights, and the race itself is very well organised.
What is included:
- Met at Barcelona International Airport by 'Running Crazy Ltd' staff
- Those flying in from Girona or Reus (Ryanair) will be met from the Bus in Barcelona

The Race:
The course is as flat as you can get, and along the wide boulevards of Barcelona. Starting near the Marina area at dusk, it is just 10 minutes before you are running in darkness. Not a problem here on the wide roads with great street lighting. You run up to the Arc de Triomf, and then head down 'Diagonal', perhaps the best known of Barcelona's boulevards, to the sea front. Then it is along the seaside road for 3K, turning right near Port Olympic and doubling back to the finish. This is an ideal course for a PB.

'Running Crazy Ltd' have secured a minimum of 3 * Hotel accommodation close to the Race Start/Finish area. This is ideal for your pre race preparations, kit security, changing and showering.

Entertainment:
Barcelona is a great city in which to let your hair down, and has become a number 1 tourist destination. There is so much to see and do in this city that you will find yourself returning again and again and again. No problem - we have races on offer at various times during the year! New Year is a great time to visit and we will provide plenty of ideas of places to go. Places like the Sagrada Familia, FC Barcelona's Nou Camp, the Magic Fountains of Montjuic. In addition we can give you suggestions for party places for the New Year.
Groups:
This weekend offers a great opportunity for Clubs or Training Partners to get together. It may also make the travel arrangements more convenient and enjoyable. There are discounts available for larger groups (20+), but even a group of just 10 will qualify for an additional prize for the first or last to finish (you choose).
Prices:
This weekend represents great value for money, more so when you can pick up flights at bargain prices. Prices start from as little as £149 for the weekend. Non-Runners obviously pay less.

"What our customers say"
Mike Smith
Bingley Harriers We went to Barcelona for the New Year 10k, what a winner- Everything worked like clockwork, organisation, information, and social arrangements.(Managed to celebrate New Year twice. Spanish time in a restaurant, and U.K Time in the Irish Bar) It was the first time we had travelled with "Running Crazy" we found the whole group very welcoming and felt included from the start. The Race is great and little details, like one of the staff looking after your kit at the start and waiting for you at the finish with a drink-alcoholic or not-your choice. Just made it for us. Thanks a lot to those guys. |
